addresses a school's unique circumstances. We've
already thought through many of the questions that
need answering before implementing elective courses.

Pack |
LearntoLearn
Elective Course Packs are designed with high schools
in mind. The elective pack considers everything from the administrative
decision to offer the elective to the end of course report.
We can even help get the the course up and running when a
last minute budget decision necessitates a quick start. |
| Questions
We've Already Asked... |
Below
are some of the key questions we've already thought to ask:
How many
students will be in the class? How many sessions will
there be? What grade level(s) are the students? What
achievement level(s) are the students? How many days
per week will the class be taught? Is the class part
of a study hall or a stand-alone? Are computers available?
What technology is available? Will there be more than
one teacher? How can we train a teacher effectively
and affordably in such a short time if the teacher has numerous
other responsibilities? |

Part
of the customization process is to discern how much technology
is needed. Each aspect of the course can be taught or administered
online, electronically or with pen and paper. We just need to
know what technology you have available and how the teacher
prefers to run the course. |
| Custom
Curriculum |
LearntoLearn
courses teach as many as 15 topics to students of
all levels. Our familiarity with the time needed to teach
topics and skills helps us determine what can be taught effectively
in a given time or setting.
So we can assess students' ages and needs, along with the
instructional, scheduling and administrative constraints to
help you find a curriculum that you can best offer given your
unique situation. |
Teacher
Training
& Support |
There
is no subsitute for experience. Study
Skills Institute
supports teachers throughout the course. While the training
and instructional materials cover everything a teacher needs,
there are often intangibles that can come up when teaching
the course. Since the path from introducing a topic
to having students master the skill is rarely a direct line,
it helps to be able ask questions. After a lesson, a
teacher can touch base with any questions or concerns.
