LearntoLearn
Online Courses |
| LearntoLearn
online courses offer a flexible, self-paced solution to
addressing study skills needs. Students, Parents and Educators
can complete self-guided lessons or work with a study
skills coach to progress through lessons. In all
cases, lessons can be preceded by a study skills diagnostic
survey that can help assess your study habits. From there,
users can explore resources and complete lessons unassisted
or enlist the aid of a coach who can provide guidance
and feedback. |

| Study
Skills Diagnostic |
The
study skills diagnostic survey asks a series of questions
regarding your knowledge, application and attitude towards
various aspects of study. Results are generated in a
chart form and reviewed by a trained LearntoLearn
instructor who suggests initial lessons that are likely to
have the most immediate benefit. |

Your Own Pace |
Whether
you are working solo or with a coach, you can proceed at your
own pace. Changing one's study habits takes time. In the
course of a school year, a student needs to focus on immediate
concerns (like upcoming tests). To improve one's habits
during the school year, it generally works best to make a series
of smaller changes that lead to a cumulative effect over time.
In summer time, students can often progress at a faster, more
concentrated pace that also allows time for reflection and forethought.
Most standard enrollments last a full year, allowing time for
initial changes to sink in before continuing to other skills.
In other words, we want to allow students to take a tip or two
and allow them time to apply it without trying to overload them
to too much information. |
| Coached
Courses |
A
study skills coach can provide tips and feedback based on the
personal needs and feedback of each student. With a coach, a
student can receive specific information, advice and explanations
that cannot be fully provided in the lessons alone. Coaching
starts with a the diagnostic survey and develops into a conversation
about the student's needs. For example, the course will suggest
initial lessons for the student, but the student chooses the
first lesson. After completion at the student's own pace,
the student can complete a simple feedback form that helps the
coach discern the next step. From there, the coach can provide
further details on the completed lesson, help monitor the student's
ability to apply the skill, or guide the student to another
lesson lesson if ready. |
| Self-led
Courses |
Self-led
online courses are for students and parents who want to login,
browse and complete lessons at their own discretion without
any assistance. A student can upgrade to a coached course at
any time. |
